This is the local Halloween House. We missed walking by there at night but we walked by yesterday afternoon. Many of the houses around it also go all out. Yesterday there were people setting up for the evening.
Every year around the middle of October I decide that I’m not going to do a post a day in November because I can barely keep up with 1 post per week. But then I do it anyway.
This all started in 2006 as NaBloPoMo – National Blog Posting Month. The origin story is here. Nobody even has personal blogs anymore. I’m still here with my horse and buggy keeping it up.
I don’t know if there is an official National Novel Writing Month organizer either. I’ve never done an official thing. I usually just set an ambitious but achievable writing goal for the month.
Here’s where I’m currently at:
I have one completed spec fiction short story that is currently out on submission.
I have completed three fan fics. Two are posted at AO3 (Which as of the day I am posting is down for a maintenance issue.) I just finished the third one and will aim to post it the first week of December. It’s a Twilight/Little House on the Prairie crossover. Nothing sexy. Edward does churn butter.
I have four partial manuscripts that could be romances. Some of them weren’t conceived as romance but in all of them there are characters who are hot for each other so that’s how I’m approaching them. I have “the main one” I’m working on and my goal is 10K words which is about 40 pages. But I have some ideas for chapters prepped in the others in case I get stuck.
I am currently reading The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones and it is the perfect book for the season.
