Here's the birdfeeder that remains birdless. I saw a hummingbird yesterday on the complete other side of the yard. I might move the feeder but then I can't see it from the window. I could also put up a sign. "Food over there birds."

My Mom gave me this cute apron made by Marble Mountain Bedding. I never wear it because it's too pretty to get gunked up with kitchen grease. The crafter herself told me to get over it because it was washable and last night I put it on and had Bob take a photo.

Tomorrow I think I'll have time to answer email and catch up on blog reading and all my neglected chores.

Everybody knows you have to throw a birdfeeder warming party before they will come.

Love the apron. The year my mom was dying, we put up about six or seven hummingbird feeders. Never had anyone seen so many hummingbirds in one yard. They slept in the trees at night, and in the days she was dying, the birds swooped by our heads and nearly tangled in our hair. The evening of the night she died, there may hae been over a hundred hummingbirds. When we woke the next morning, there was only one.

I love telling that story, thinking about it. But put up more than one feeder.
